What We’re Not Told About the Oracles
When we look across the great feminine oracular traditions of the ancient world, from the Sumerian temples of Inanna to the priestess lineages of ancient Egypt and the Pythia Oracles of Greece - a clear pattern emerges.
Oracles were ceremonial leaders, visionaries, and intermediaries between the worlds, cultivating direct relationships with the primordial forces of Earth and Cosmos that yielded magical power, prophecy, and oracular revelation.
AND - they were also theologians, artists, writers, poets, and teachers, embedding energy transmissions and preserving important teachings through their sacred artistry, literature, hymns, poetry, performance, and oral traditions.
AND - they wielded real religious and political authority that ensured the well-being of the people and the land.
Far from occupying purely ceremonial roles, they also ran complex temple institutions, oversaw treasuries, and played active roles in governance and law.
As living embodiment of the Goddess, they granted legitimacy to rulers and secured divine protection, blessing, fertility, prosperity, and sacred order.
In other words, they not only transmitted divine wisdom, but also translated it into the immediate world of human affairs.
They were instrumental in shaping the spiritual and structural foundations of their societies.
They were leaders in the fullest sense of the word, revered and entrusted with the flourishing of their communities.
In the modern world, where our understanding of feminine oracular power has nearly entirely disappeared, we may see it portrayed as mystical, abstract, or strictly esoteric.
Yet, in the ancient world, oracular power was both immensely influential and undeniably practical.
Oracles were a voice for the Earth, for the elements, and for the sacred forces they served.
They would translate frequencies they received into practical forms and structures that would then be lived and embodied in the world.
They knew how to respond to the needs of the time.
The times we live in require that we retrieve and reclaim our oracular power, and that we actualize its potential.
It’s an evolutionary imperative.
And it’s also the great adventure that we came to live into, to reclaim this memory and this embodiment of who we are, in a brand new octave never seen before!
